Biographical note
Henry Hallet Dale joined Burroughs Wellcome & Co. in 1904 and became director of the Wellcome Physiological Research Laboratories in 1906 on the departure of Dr Dowson. He resigned in 1913. From 1938 to 1960 he was Chairman of the Wellcome Trust.
