Biographical note
George Fraser moved to Australia in January 1966 to take up a position as Reader in Genetics in the University of Adelaide and Honorary Associate Physician in Clinical Genetics at Adelaide Children's Hospital. He resumed studies of deafness in adults and children, supported by the Australian Research Grant Committee, working closely with the Education Department of South Australia and the South Australian Adult Deaf Society. A total of 523 cases were recorded (adults and children). Fraser left Australia to take up a post at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in December 1967.
Fraser also continued his studies of childhood blindness in South Australia. The records are at PP/GRF/C.98-104.
