Photograph of a display at the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum of two books open at illustrated pages. On the left is a 1519 herbal with an illustration of the male and female mandrake with a dog tied to the root of the plant. On the right is a book with two woodcuts depicting the healing of fractures. The photograph was taken in the 1940s and accessioned in January 1947 (accession number PHO 12885).
