Document in Latin in favour of the burial of Galileo in Santa Croce, and the erection of a monument. Written to refute the objections of those who considered him a heretic. Document affirming the validity of Galileo's will, and his right to make a will: with holograph endorsement by Fra Giovanni Paolo Bimbacci. Produced in Florence.

Notes

The objectors were partly successful, and Galileo was buried in an obscure part of the Church. His remains were not removed until 1737, when the monument was finally erected, and he was re-buried in the mausoleum in the north aisle of Santa Croce.
