About this work
Description
These records relate to two separate, albeit linked, organisations; they are catalogued together here for convenience. They comprise papers relating to the British Migraine Association (mainly an association for fellow sufferers) and its daughter body the Migraine Trust (which promotes research into migraine and its alleviation) and include minutes of meetings of the Medical Advisory Group (of the Association), 1964-1965, and of the Medical Advisory Council (of the Trust), 1965-1978; Migraine Newsletter, 1966-1980, and Migraine News, 1967-1978; and miscellaneous other publications and cuttings on migraine.
This collection includes material which has not yet been catalogued. Additions to an archive are referred to as 'accruals'. A summary of the uncatalogued materials in this collection is provided under 'Accruals'.

Acquisition note
The papers in section A were given to the library at Wellcome Collection by Dr K.D. Keele, who was a member of the Medical Advisory Group of the British Migraine Association, and of its successor the Medical Advisory Council of the Migraine Trust, and those in section B were found among the papers, received via the Voluntary Euthanasia Society in 1981, formerly in the possession of Miss Lucy Dorling-Bone, its one-time secretary, who had also been a member of the British Migraine Association and Migraine Trust.
Biographical note
The British Migraine Association was founded in 1958 mainly as an association for fellow sufferers; growing out of its activities, the Migraine Trust was set up in 1965 as a charitable organisation for the promotion of research into migraine and its alleviation.
Accruals note
Acc 2738 (4 boxes, received 2023): Minutes, correspondence and other organisational records from The Migraine Trust, as well as publications and material relating Migraine conferences.
