Description

Portrait of an unidentified man, painted c.1730. The portrait was the property of Gravesend & North Kent Hospital who in 1950 asked the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum to investigate the sitter and artist. The Museum could not identify either but concluded the sitter was not John Hunter as the hospital thought.
