Digital files relating to presentations and workshops given at an international symposium entitled "Communicating Darwin's Ideas: Richness and Opportunity" (25-30 October 2009).

Comprises:

- Digital presentation files as given by symposium speakers on communicating the science of Darwin in public engagement and education contexts. Some presentations include speakers' notes.

- Digital document, image and video files which supplement the symposium and workshop presentations.

- A copy of the Wellcome Tree of Life video. See WT/D/3/8/4 for related material.

The symposium presentation files are grouped together. Workshop presentations and supplementary files are housed within folders entitled "Workshop 1", "Workshop 2" and "Workshop 3".

"Communicating Darwin's Ideas: Richness and Opportunity" (25-30 October 2009) was jointly organised by the Wellcome Trust and the British Council in collaboration with the National Science Learning Centre (NSLC) and the Natural History Museum as part of national Darwin 200 celebrations. The symposium was held at the NSLC in York and brought together scientists, policy makers, public engagement specialists and education professionals to discuss teaching and communicating evolution science.
