John Hunter's Lectures

Lecture notes. The first volume has on flyleaf. "Hunters Lectures" and both bear the initials J. H. S. or I. H. S., but they are not necessarily those of the writer. The handwriting is neat and careful throughout; the body of the text is on the recto, and the notes on the verso of the pages. The substance of the lectures has been epitomized into a series of 1758 numbered aphorisms.

It is possible that the book may have belonged to Isaac Henrique Sequira, M.D., L.R.C.P., born in Lisbon, 1738, died in London, 1816, and that the initials are his.
