Black and white reproduction of an excerpt of a handwritten prescription in Latin in a medical casebook of John Metford M.D. of Northampton, 1656. Possibly reproduced as part of the exhibition Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The facsimile is listed as exhibit no. 968 in the souvenir catalogue. The reproduction is possibly from the manuscript (reference: Sloane MS 2812) formerly of the British Museum (reference: top of folio B.M. 69 b.), now held by the British Library.
