Description

Notes of lectures on midwifery given by William Lowder, taken by B Lukyn, The arrangement of the lectures broadly conforms to the syllabus outlined in A syllabus of the lectures on midwifery delivered at Guy's Hospital, and at Dr Lowder's and Dr Haighton's Theatre, in St Saviour's Church-Yard, Southwark (London, 1799), cf. MSS. 3336-3337. The lectures are not numbered. The student was perhaps Robert Lukyn, later a surgeon at Faversham, Kent.
