Description

Two images on one negative: the first is a figure with a blue glaze of Thoth, the Egyptian Moon God, divinity of wisdom and possessor of every kind of knowledge including medicine. The item was purchased at auction in 1911 by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1917 (accession numbers R6509 and R128/1936). The second is of a bronze figure that was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1917 (accession numbers R6536 and R68/1945). Neither item is held by Wellcome Collection.
