    meet the numerous applications made for relief by the sick and poor of the crowded population of West- minster. A Subscription was consequently opened, and great exertions have been made during tbe last year so to improve the internal arrangements of the Hospital, as to render it worthy of the lead which it formerly took among similar institutions of this metropolis, and to secure the patronage of the public. But tbe Trustees have still to regret, that hitherto their exertions in col- lecting Subscriptions, have not succeeded so far as to enable them to commence making those enlargements of the Establishment, that the increased demands of the necessitous Sick require : certain improvements and additions are now, however, under consideration, the effect of which must be a considerable increase of the means of accommodation, and consequently a great ex- tension of the usefulness of the Charity. In favour of those improved and additional Buildings (which are about to be commenced) the support of the Humane and Beneficent is earnestly solicited. {£3= The Inspection of the Trustees is earnestly solicited, and is at all times esteemed a benefit conferred upon the Hospital, as the superintendance of the Governors, whilst it is calculated to prevent irregularities, affords great encou- ragement to those Officers who faithfully discharge their duties.
