About this work

Description

Two sisters dressed in identical costumes, and a young man dressed differently. As "Les Soeurs Moulier" the sisters were performers on the horizontal bars. They were described as "barristes" in L'est republicain, 30 May 1897, p. 2, when they performed in Nancy, and as "les intrépides barristes soeurs Moulier" in Le monde artiste, 31 August 1902, p. 551, when they performed in Lyon.

Lettering

The 3 Moulier's Inscription on verso written in black ink gives the address of one of the Mouliers: "H. Moulier, Alsenborn St., Enkenbach/Pfalz" and further words "frei £30" followed by a word indistinct
