Reproduction of a woodcut of Hermes Trismegistus [Trismegistos] the founder of Hermeticism, which informed alchemy, and has been associated with the Greek god, Hermes, and the Egyptian god, Thoth. The original woodcut is from from Stolcius, Daniel (active 1618): Viridarium chymicum figuris cupro incisis adornatum, et poeticis picturis illustratum Frankfort : L. Jennis, 1624.
