Three images on one negative:
- Reproduction of a photograph of Janet Porter (1810-1890), head nurse at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary who worked with Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister (1827-1912), British surgeon. The photograph is from a portrait presented to the Royal Infirmary by members of the nursing staff upon Porter's death. The reproduction is from an unknown publication.
- Photograph of the exterior of the old surgical hospital, an extension to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
- Drawing of the east façade of the University of Edinburgh Old College, as built in 1827. The work is from an unknown source.
