Description

Pentostam is a stable, sterile solution of sodium stibogluconate containing the equivalent of 100 mg pentavalent antimony per ml. It combines high therapeutic efficacy against leishmaniasis with exceptionally low toxicity. It is absorbed into the tissues without irritation, permitting intramuscular use where the intravenous route is impracticable. Indicated in the infections caused by Leishmania organisms, Visceral leishmaniasis, Cutaneous leishmaniasis and Mucocutaneous leishmaniasis.
