Roger Detels, Professor of Epidemiology at University of California, Los Angelas (UCLA), was a member of the IEA since the late 1960s, and held positions of Office on the Council and Executive Committee as follows:
1984 - 1987 IEA Treasurer;
1987 - 1990 IEA Treasurer (second term);
1990 - 1993 IEA President;
1993 - 1996 Past President/ Executive Committee member.
