The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Harry Hawksbee, a music-hall entertainer, in drag, stands wearing a large dress and holding an umbrella. A private postcard from 1914, sent by Harry from Lees House at Yalding, Kent' to his friend George in London "… having a great time. Weather glorious…' The "great time" appears to involve strolling around a local park wearing full drag, including wig and earrings"
