    ANNUAL REPORT OF THE Bourton=on=the=Water Cottage Hospital for the year 1927. During the past year the Hospital has sustained an irreparable loss in the death of the President, Mr. G. F. Moore, Mr. Moore joined the Hospital Committee thirty-one years ago, he became Honorary Secretary ten years later and President in 1925. His interest in the welfare of the Hospital and its benevo¬ lent work never slackened and he crowned his many acts of generosity by donating £10,000 to build the new Hospital now approaching completion. The 67th Annual Report marks another period of invaluable service to the sick and suffering. The number of patients admitted to the Hospital during the year was 100, a decrease of nine compared with the previous year, 90 being adults and 10 children. There were 59 Surgical cases and 41 Medical. The opera¬ tions numbered 30, two of them being major and 28 minor. Of the whole of the number of cases treated 65 were discharged cured, 28 improved, in 3 the condition was unchanged, 2 trans¬ ferred, 2 died and 6 remained in Hosiptal at the close of the year. The daily average of beds occupied was 5.7 as compared with 6.6 in 1926 and, 4.1 in 1925, and the average number of days per patient spent in the Hospital was 16. Five cases received massage and electrical treatment.
