Description

Reproduction of page two of a handwritten letter on Cinchona, possibly described as one of the "Descriptions of plants collected during their expedition to Peru and Chile, 1777-1778, by J. Pavon and H. Ruiz. Facsimile of the descriptions of Cinchonas" in the exhibition catalogue. The facsimile was possibly reproduced as part of the exhibition Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The facsimile is possibly listed as exhibit no. 983 in the souvenir catalogue and lent by The British Museum (Natural History.
