Description

Black and white halftone reproduction of a portrait of Juan Luis Vives March (1493-1540), Spanish (Valencian) scholar and Renaissance humanist, possibly reproduced from a Spanish Encyclopedia. There are two images on one glass plate, the other depicting an illustration of Bridewell Hospital, but only the portrait is listed in the "M" series glass plate negative register: M0000731-M000495, and is reproduced as the sheet negative and photographic print.
