    Entertain¬ ments. Contributory Scheme. Legacies. Personal Changes. Motor Ambulance Service. 16 The Board are very grateful to all who organised entertainments to help the Hospital during the year. Again Mr. Albert Fisher and his friends have beaten their own record with a total of £147:8:5 from their Annual Whist and Bridge Drives and Dance. A few additional Contributory Scheme centres have been formed during the year, and the support from all the existing centres has been well maintained. The following figures show the income received from this source during the past seven years:— £ s. d. 1926 2,954 4 5 1927 3,526 2 9 1928 3,536 14 10 1929 4,176 7 2 1930 4,249 1 1 1 1931 4,456 15 6 1932 4,541 17 3 This very substantial contribution to the total income is obviously of vital importance to the Hos¬ pital, and the Board desire to record their sense of indebtedness to the local Secretaries and Collectors, who have rendered invaluable assistance in carrying on the Scheme. During the year the following Legacies, free of duty, were received:- The Executors of Mr. I. H. W. Abrahams, £10. ,, ,, ,, Lady H. C. Smyth, £200. ,, ,, ,, Mr. G. H. Landon, £100. The generous thought of the testators in making provision in their Wills is deeply appreciated. Dr. A. A. Miller, the present Resident Medical Officer, was appointed following the resignation of Dr. W. J. Walter. The demands on the Hospital Motor Ambulance continue to be heavy. The Board wish to place on record their appreciation of the valuable assistance
