EXPERIMENT THE THIRTEENTH. There was neither precipitation nor effervefcence difcernible in eithey' from concentrated vitriolic acid, nor any vi¬ able effect from arfenic or corrofive fublimate. N EXPERIMENT THE FOURTEENTH. On trial of the waters, after expofure (experiment ill) with the tindfure of galls, Pruffian lime, and infufion of litmus, the fame changes took place as in experiments 2d, 3d, and 4th, though not in fo great a degree; the fhades of colour, appearing now confiderably weaker. Thefe experiments having been made on A and B, were all (except the firli) repeated on B and C, with pre- cifely the fame refult. In no inftance could the llighteft variation be per¬ ceived.
