    OF THE ANALYSIS. I n the procefs of this analylis, the firft thing attended to was the fenfible pro¬ perties of the waters. In this refpect no difference whatever could be obferved between A and B. The water of both was equally clear and tranquil; they had both a diftincft chalybeate fmell and tafte, and were both found, by an ac¬ curate thermometer, to be at a tempe¬ rature of 50°. There was alfo obfervable an equal ochry depofit on the channels leading from the rei'peclive bafons, as well as on the fides and bottoms of the bafons themfelves. This fimilarity be¬ ing noticed, the following experiments were made on A and B, nearly, though not exactly, in the order in which they are here related. /
