At present they are in good order.” Madame ROSE HERSEE writes “Lee-place, 102, Lee High-road, Lewisham, S.E., April 4th, 1885. “ Dear Sirs,—Although at one time strongly , prejudiced against Dr. Carter Moffat’s AM- MONJAPHONE, I am hound by a sense of justice to say that I have found it a most valuable invention. Recently it enabled me to conquer a prolonged hoarseness which threatened to pre¬ vent my fulfilment of an operatic engagement. I have also tried its effects on some of my pupils with striking success.” Mdme. ADELINA PATTI writes July 15. 1885. Subsequently Madame HERSEE writes :— “June 10th, 1885. “Dear Sir,—Please send a £3 3s. AMMONIAPHONE for another of my pupils. I continue to find it very beneiicial to my own throat. Last night at the Countess of Wilton’s, where I was singing some opera scenes. I don’t know what I should have done without it, my throat being so relaxed.” CHARLES WYNDHAM, Esq., Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, Jan. 15, 1885, writes :— “I have how used the AMMONIAPHONE which you forwarded me about a fortnight ago, and, although rather sceptical at first, I am hound now to confess it is of very great service to me.” Madame MARIE ROZE writes:— Hawthorn Lodge, Finchley New-road, London, “Oct. 25, 1S84. A. Maefarren, the dis¬ tinguished President of the Royal Academy of Music), writes:— “7, Hamilton-terrace, N.W., “ Oct, 22, 1884. “I consider the AMMONIA- PHONE to have a wonderfully bracing effect on the vocal organs,and shall have great pleasure in recommending it to such as have weak or relaxed throats; indeed, I have already done so.” Mr. J. GREENHILL (the well-known teacher of •singing, and special voice trainer), writes :— “ 89, Upper Gloucester-place, “Regent’s Park, London, July 3, 1885. “From an eight months’ trial of Dr. Carter Moffat’s AMMONIAPHONE, I am enabled to say that it is indeed a remarkable invention. 11 clears and strengthens the voice, imparting marked improvement to the tone, and assists greatly in extending the compass. It also possesses the power of conserving the voice and sustaining one during prolonged vocal exertion, and of rendering the throat largely insusceptible to atmospheric influences and changes of temperature.” IN PRAISE OF DR, CARTER MOFFAT'S AM M ON I A P HO N E. 6~g)n9 <^S>- G Dr. A. Apart from improved timbre, resonance, and extension of register, which are undeniable, I have found the AMMONIAPHONE most useful in cutting short catarrhal and laryngeal troubles, and of great benefit in removing huskiness. Several patients have tried the AMMONIAPHONE at my suggestion, and are all pleased with the improvement in their voices.” Rev. W. HAY M. H. AITKIN writes :— “33, Lansdowne-road, Bedford. “ Will you kindly recharge my AMMONIAPHONE? I have derived much benefit from its use. It certainly does clear the voice in a remarkable way, and enables me to get through my work, preaching two or three times a day, and sometimes oltener, with much less trouble and fatigue.” Professor C.
