Description
A collection of (mostly untitled) film reels made at intervals between 1934 and 1939 to accompany public lectures and papers given to scientific meetings by Sir J. Barcroft. The collection falls into three groups:- Group 1 (the largest):consisting of a large number of short films showing the evolution of the mammalian nervous system, the genesis of respiratory and other movements in foetal lambs and the response of foetal lambs to physiological stimuli and experimental lesions at various stages of gestation. Group 2:consisting of French films on the physiology of the spleen, probably made in the 1920s. Group 3: consisting of miscellaneous reels showing experimental decerebration and labyrinthine destruction in foetal and new-born cats and dogs, and the genesis of respiration in turkeys and chickens.
