About this work

Description

A dramatisation of events surrounding a case of leprosy, highlighting the fear and secrecy that often keep the disease unreported. It aims to reassure anyone who fears he or she has caught leprosy by emphasising the availability of effective, painless treatment, compared to the uselessness, pain and expense of traditional medicine. Procedures at the leprosy clinic are shown, followed by scenes of life at a leprosy isolation village and at a hospital settlement. The message is that with early diagnosis and a strict regime of treatment, leprosy can be cured.
