About this work

Description

"Every young man sometime or other has to face the problem of sex in his own life. As an actual or coming citizen, also, he should know something of the importance of the subject for the community generally. Nevertheless, it is only a small minority of our young people who have received adequate knowledge and guidance on this vital subject. Boys and girls alike have been left to find out the facts for themselves, and a great deal of the information picked up has been wrong or misleading. Also, it has been acquired in a way which has connected sex with secrecy and shame, and this gives a bad setting for a subject which should be associated with wonder and reverence for the marvellous contrivance it displays, and with thoughts of beauty and happiness as being concerned with the most intimate and sacred of human relationships. It has been thought desirable to set out in simple language the story of reproduction. Each one must decide for himself his line of sex conduct, and it is reasonable and desirable that he should have accurate information of the nature of the forces and of the sex mechanism he has to control, and of the possible results of failure to exercise that control."--From page 2.
