Description
Bible. N.T. Luke 2.8-16. The kneeling shepherd holds a basket: a pair of bird's feet appear to protrude from it, indicating that it contains turtledoves, the traditional Jewish sacrifice for a birth; a boy brings in a lamb from the right. The shepherd appears to kiss the Christ child's feet
