Description
Visualisation of calcium waves during cycles 10-14 of Drosophila development. The embryo was co-injected with Ca-sensitive dye Calcium green dextran and Ca-insensitive rhodamine-dextrin and confocal images taken. Thus the ratio indicates real changes in calcium concentration and not changes in dye distribution or other artefacts. The images are of a cortical glancing section of the anterior pole. Ca waves initiate at the anterior pole and propagate to the centre of the embryo the data are shown in flat format.
