Description

Amateur film of Sir Joseph Barcroft and family at home taking tea, walking in the garden, etc., and with colleagues in the laboratory performing experiments, examining apparatus, etc. Joseph Barcroft presiding at table with his wife Mill (nee, Millicent Ball, daughter of Ball, Prof. of Mathematics in Dublin and subsequently the Astronomer Royal), the occassion is at their Cambridge home, 13 Grange Road and the subsequent scenes are in the grounds of that house. Visitors possibly from the U.S. (e.g. van Slyke, Barron, Fulton - during the operative procedure in the lab and following the use of the manometer which subsequently became the standard Lloyd/Haldane apparatus), Barron may be using Anrep as an assistant.
