Description
The oval portrait is set in a baroque monument with a pediment at the top, on each side of which is seated a putto with a cornucopia, the cornucopia on the left containing vegetables and the one on the right containing fruits

"Insulanus": born in Lille. "Jul.": unidentified. Possibly "Tul." referring to M. Tullius Cicero, and a sentence in his De oratore II.27.117 "tardi ingeni est rivulos consectari, fontis rerum non videre"
