About this work
Description
An investigation of a secret programme of experiments by the U.S. Army, begun during the race for arms superiority at the start of the Cold War and continued for 20 years (1955-1975) using psychotropic drugs, in particular LSD, on some 3,500 uninformed volunteers. Many of these servicemen suffered severe psychological damage which ended their careers. Includes disturbing footage of "volunteers" reacting to LSD and alarming reports of other U.S. army and C.I.A. experiments carried out in the streets and subways of New York and San Francisco to test the lifespan of bacteria for potential use in germ warfare.
