Description
Scanning electron micrograph of the head of a silver fish (Lepisma saccharina). They are small wingless insects that get their common name from their metallic silvery/blue scales and the way in which their abdomen tapers, giving them a fish-like shape. They are fast moving, crawling insects that like damp dark environments.
