Segment 1 An unfertilised ovum is shown ten hours after copulation. A clock in the corner shows the progression of time. The fertilised ovum is shown. The cells divide over time, and the intertitles describe what is happening. Another specimen is shown. The ovum develops from the four-celled stage to morula. Segment 2 The embryo continues to develop. Following the morula stage, the segmentation cavity and the inner cell mass develop. This takes around 20 hours. An abnormal development occurs. The hernia of a blastocyst is shown, and again 48 hours later. A small blastula and its inner cell mass are shown. The hernia of the blastula is shown.
