About this work

Description

Obsessive compulsive disorder is a medical illness that can affect people of all ages, including children and teenagers. The symptoms are repetitive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and unnecessary, repetitive behaviours (compulsions). These symptoms can be so time consuming and distressing that every day life becomes a real struggle. For a young person with OCD the symptoms, and their effects on daily life, can seem strange and alarming. But although OCD is not a rare illness, many people do not know much about it, and the first person who needs information is the young person who has OCD. This CD-ROM allows young people to share the experiences of others with the same problem. It also teaches them to know when to get help for OCD, as well as covering how they might be treated.
