About this work

Description

From this we learn that the compiler was Curé of Lunel near Montpellier, and that he was attacked by stone in the bladder in 1699. He refused an operation, but was compelled to agree to be cut. This was successfully done in 1705, when he was operated on by Raisin [ -1719], a 'Chirurgien du Roi' of Toulouse, and recovered completely after 54 days. This MS. is the compiler's holograph copy, perhaps prepared for publication, as there are numerous additions and corrections, together with an elaborate index. Produced in Lunel.
