About this work
Description
This is an investigation into the problem of food poisoning in the catering and agriculture industries, and what local and national Government is doing to tackle it. There were an estimated 9 million food poisoning cases in 1998, and on average, 200 people die every year, mostly from Salmonella, E.coli 0157 and Campylocabter. Food scientists, researchers and hygiene inspectors recommend the best ways to prevent infection, but the recommendations are not always taken up by the Government.
