The devil holds a flag inscribed 'Popery & slavery'. He challenges Liberty with 'this bitch is still opposing my schemes'. Liberty holds a flag inscribed 'Liberty secured Grivences redressed'. Behind her stand a crowd of 'Liberty's only friends'. Centre stand a group holding a flag inscribed 'Broadbottoms'. Above stand a group holding a flag inscribed 'Ch. Militant'. Right stand a group with a flag inscribed 'The mission' with a group of 'converts bunfers and beggars'. Above the highlanders stand a group of 'Jacobites'. A crown and sceptre lie on the floor in front of the devil
