About this work

Description

The programme focuses on mental health care and Raj Persaud is joined in the studio by Rosie Winterton MP, the Government Minister responsible for mental health services, to discuss some of the challenges faced by the NHS. The new Mental Health Bill is discussed, as well as employment after mental health - surveys show that 90% of people who have been through a mental illness would like to work, but the majority are unemployed. Professor Paul Lelliot, Director of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Research Unit and Chairman of the First Step Trust, an organisation to help people find work after suffering mental ill-health, discusses this situation.
