Description
"Interview ABC is a personal story. The stories within the comic are brought to life through the illustrations. They express how different people consider, communicate and deal with a variety of mental and physical health problems. Emphasis is given on self-care and support and the need for communication. The three stories in Interview ABC draw on my own experiences as a person who lives with various mental health behaviours. As an adult who struggles with communication, I have found creating comics and art a good method in beginning to understand my own personal behaviours. Art can be a therapeutic and expressive way of conveying emotions and problems and with Interview ABC I wanted to show how verbal communication can be presented on a page. Living with Autism and also being queer makes it difficult to find my place in the world. This is something I struggle with everyday. I still find it challenging to find support networks and to maintain friendships and connections. It is a constant struggle by I endeavour to get by."--From back cover recto.
