About this work

Description

Clump of strong smelling plant with square-ended ligulate daisy-like flowers with yellow centres. Has been used for treating fevers, migraine headaches, earache, arthritis, and as a tonic. Used externally as an insect repellant and to relieve bites and stings. Also used in cooking to provide an aromatic bitter taste to foods, and in the drinks and perfume industries. It contains tannins, volatile oils, and sesquiterpene lactones, especially parthenolide.
