First aid hints.

A revolving cardboard information wheel printed in black and red giving basic first aid directions on what to do in the case of simple fractures, sprains, burns, haemorrhage, insensibility, suffocation and poisoning. It was issued by George Philip & Son (of 32 Fleet Street, London, one of the oldest publishing houses in the United Kingdom, founded in 1834, specializing in maps and atlases) possibly in the mid 1930s and would have been intended to be kept around the house and pulled out in moments of emergency, providing instant instructions at a turn of the wheel. The large wheel is sandwiched between the 3 outer ones and revolves, giving the appropriate information for diagnosis and treatment in 2 small windows. Bandaging techniques are illustrated on the front. It is very similar in general design to George Philip and Son’s ‘Planisphere’ (literally 'flat sphere') which was issued in 1935, showing the major constellations visible in the night sky.
