Description
Ephesos (Turkish: Efes) was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia, three kilometers southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. In the engraving, a group of villagers approach the city of Ephesus with their beasts of burden. The Nif Mountain, which is one the nineteen mountains called Mount Olympus in antiquity, is seen in the background
