About this work
Description
Are we in the midst of an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder epidemic? It is estimated that at least one in twenty schoolchildren are thought to have some degree of ADHD. Are there solid reasons as to why this is happening, or is it rather to do with our desire to pathologise what might in the past have been referred to as degrees of 'naughtiness.' Is the diagnosis of ADHD used to cover up family and social problems which might cause similar behavioural problems, or is our diet rich in additives the cause?
