Lettering
Filia sed Caei iuga mox petit ardua Cynthi, Et nato nataeq(ue) suum conquesta dolorem est. Vos fove quae genui mensisq(ue) accumbo deorum. Temnor [?] et obblaterat Dircei nunta mariti. F.E.
The lettering represents the plea of Niobe that people should bring gifts to her, not to Latona: it appears to have been engraved on the wrong plate
Creator/production credits
F.E. in the lettering is identified in the British Museum online catalogue as Franco Estius, the author of the verses
