About this work

Description

Gordon H. Scott introduces this very informative film which illustrates ear examination procedures and highlights various kinds of ear conditions from facial nerve paralysis to hearing loss. A demonstration of the anatomy and innervation of the ear is followed by techniques for examining the auditory canal, tympanic membrane, Eustachian tube and middle ear. Autoscopic views of conditions affecting the drum are shown and hearing tests demonstrated. Frederick L. Darley ends the film with examples of speech in three people with varying degrees of hearing loss.
