About this work
Description
This documentary follows the work of paramedics working in ambulance 212 from Reading Ambulance Service as they struggle to get to all their calls within 8 minutes. The programme presents a valuable insight into the everyday reality of being a paramedic in which callouts range from being little more than a taxi service to practising urgent life-saving techniques. The work also veers between periods of extreme tension when saving a life and crushing boredom while awaiting a call. The paramedics also express their frustration with time-wasters and how they deal with their emotions when tragedy strikes.
