This DVD is a compilation of four programmes broadcast on Channel 4 using testimony from Auschwitz survivors, archive footage and historical information to piece together the story of how Nazi Germany experimented on human guinea pigs to strengthen their race. Part 1, The Deadly Experiment, looks at the early years of German Nazi's human experiments on the mentally ill - the eugenic plan. Detailed information is given of the first experiments with euthanasia on the mentally and physically disabled, the plan for mass sterilisation of Jews and Germans who were seen to be of bad genetic heritage and experiments on twins in Auschwitz. Part 2, The Wrong Stuff, looks at how Germans influenced the US in the field of aviation. Part 3, Hitler's Biological Soldiers, focuses on the biological revolution the Nazi regime hoped to achieve, the importance of the medical profession to the Nazi regime and how much of the medical profession were involved in racism and often murder - almost 5000 disabled children and around 100 000 adults were killed during the war by medical staff and. Part 4, The Good German, looks at Germany's involvement with weapons of mass destruction, beginning with Heisenberg's development of the nuclear programme and explains his failure to build the atom bomb and the development of the 'killing machine' of German medical science during Nazi rule.
