About this work
Description
The first item on the programme is about advances in neuroscience over the last decade. In the future, a host of 'cognitive enhancers,' from designer drugs to electrode implants, could make profound changes to our minds. But how can we make sure they are used ethically? The second item is about the patenting of genes. Should biotech companies discovering them be allowed to patent genes before we even know their full function?
